Reading a price ceiling honestly

The ceiling is a close, not a quote.

The only price stored per security is the close of its newest bar. A name that closed at $0.98 and opened at $1.04 is in the $1 bucket all day. That is not a bug to fix with a live feed bolted onto a page: it is the meaning of the column, and it is why the price column names its own source in the note under the grid.

Low price is not low value, and neither is a bargain.

A share price says nothing about size — a company can be worth billions in a million one-dollar shares. The score beside each row is the same composite the scanner uses and it does not know the price is small; if you want a value screen, screen on P/E, PEG and market value, which /scanner has as fields.

The liquidity column decides the rest.

Relative volume near 1.0 and average dollar volume in the hundreds of thousands describe a name few participants are in. Below roughly $250,000 a day, the spread and the size you can actually trade matter more than any signal this console can compute. The $300,000 floor the grid carries is a convention, editable in the scanner — it is not a rule of the market.

Nothing here places an order.

This build records signals, paper fills and reviews. It has no order path to any venue, so a sub-dollar name on this page can be added to a watchlist or a paper book and cannot be bought. If you came here looking for a one-click trade, this is not that software, and the readiness page will tell you the same thing about your own bots.
